Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), a new rule coming into effect on September 14, 2019, as part of PSD2 regulation in Europe, will require changes to how your European customers authenticate online payments. 1. I don't love the move to Stripe Connect and the fact that there isn't a way to connect directly to the API anymore. By connecting via Stripe Connect, you get access to each Stripe Account Dashboard, and could theoretically skim funds off of a charge if you wanted. I do not feel that this integration meets the terms outlined regarding the Stripe Connect Platform Agreement https://stripe.com/connect/legal regarding a clear explanation of exactly what the user is authorizing - I would guess that 99% of users have no idea that this gives you access to see every single charge, and or actually use the dashboard to manage their charges. Their assumed understanding is that they are authorizing the code that sits on their hosted website to do this - not the actual plugin developers personally when they log in to Stripe. I get that clicking a button is "easier" for so many users, however at the expense of privacy it doesn't justify the use of the Stripe Connect Platform in this context. Huge red flags regarding this change. I'm a big fan of Gravity Forms and have used it in so many instances, but this gives me serious pause.
